Hotel Information

There is no LoW6 conference hotel.  Listed below are a number of hotels located near the ISS (Institute of Social Studies), where the meetings and meals will be held.

The LoW6 participant is encouraged to search for their best rate.

Cheapest: Hotel Sebel: one of the few cheaper options in the city centre (wifi at no extra charge, 10 minutes walk from ISS conference venue, and gets booked up well in advance): http://www.hotelsebel.nl/english/home.html

Middle range: (80-100 Euros per night) Novotel City Centrel, Ibis City Centre, Mercure City Centre - all a 20 minute walk or 5 minute bus/tram ride from Conference venue (ISS). Book at: http://www.accorhotels.com

Luxury (150-200 per night). The Park Hotel http://www.parkhoteldenhaag.nl/
and

are both very near the conference venue at ISS (2-5 minutes walk)

Travel Information

From the Amsterdam airport: Schiphol:

For “from” (van) keyin “Schiphol“   (the Amsterdam airport)
For “to” (Naar) keyin “Den Haag Central“  (the central train station)

Buy a 1 way ticket from the ticket counter located on the main level of the airport, after you exit passport control with your baggage  (there  is no discount for roundtrip).  You may also want to exchange your currency for Euros.  You may use your “charge card” when you buy your ticket.

From Den Haag Central to the ISS

Restaurants:

There are many interesting restaurants on the Nordeinde (where the Palace is also located) right opposite ISS. Two other nearby cafes are especially recommended :

(1) Crunch Cafe http://www.crunchcafe.nl/ 5 minute walk on Piet Hein straat (continuation of Kortenaerkade on which ISS is located)

(2) Hagedis (The Lizard - Vegetarian and ‘alternative’) 10 minute walk
